Sailing Holidays around Lanzarote

The lovely Playa Francesca

We’re back in Lanzarote now after our week skiing in Italy, and are ready to go again with 5 more weeks of relaxed sailing around Lanzarote.  In fact we have just completed the first.

Our guests are often pleasantly surprised to discover that as well as sailing there is plenty of time for other activities in the sunshine as well.  Walking, swimming, snorkelling, reading on deck, even shopping!

Last week as well as sailing 170 miles around Lanzarote our guests were able to spend a morning at the vibrant market in Marina Rubicon, walk along the cliff tops from Puerto Calero to Playa Quemada, swim off the beach in Playa Quemada, walk along the promenade in Arrecife, climb the volcano on Graciosa and snorkel and swim in the lovely bay, Playa de Francesca.  After a long motor home on the last day we also managed an hours swimming time off the beach in Papagayo before returning to the marina.

Whilst sailing we did many tacks and also saw 3 whales and 3 different sets of dolphins as well as quite a few flying fish.

We tend to sail around Lanzarote in an anticlockwise direction and due to the distance between ports we often start the week sailing short distances and spending more time ashore until it is time for the long sail up to La Graciosa and then the longer sail back!  This gives the week a distinctly holiday feel rather than that of being on a course or taking part in a yacht race.

We have 3 more of these weeks left to go, but only 2 spaces on the trip from 20 – 27th February.  Why not join us.
