Summer Sunshine

We are now back in Arhus after another successful 10 day trip from Copenhagen which saw us sail 300 miles, visit 5 new harbours and 4 outstanding anchorages.  We navigated narrow channels, squeezed under bridges and passed many wind farms as well as lots of other yachts.  July is peak sailing season for the Danes.  We discovered that we had to get into harbour early if we wanted a spot.

The weather was warm and sunny with the odd rain shower, and mainly enough wind for some great sailing.  On the one day which was flat calm  we decided to stay in the beautiful anchorage in Korsor, and spent the whole day ‘people watching’.  The anchorage emptied out at 1000, with people on their holidays eager to sail.  We had an afternoon with the anchorage to ourselves but at 1600 it started filling up, by the time it was going dark there was no room to move.

A beautiful spot, we took the dinghy ashore and walked around the nature reserve before finding the ice cream shop!

It is now time to start heading back to UK and for the next 10 days we will sail south through the Lille Belt to Kiel before doing a crew change for our last trip Kiel to Ipswich, through the Kiel Canal and then across the north sea.  There are 3 spaces left on this so there is still time to join us.

Hope to see you onboard
